Lagubribots Pt.7

Yay comics! It's been so long my little ones, but here you go. Those shelves took a long time and I know there are mistakes in the drawing, but at least you get heavy duty detail.

I have been obsessed with a good (and believe me I had to hunt) video game podcast called Retroforcego on the gaming site Destructoid. If you enjoy retro gaming as much as I do (I enjoy them a LOT), then check it out maybe. I am on the forums there as Rocket_Auk, ...yes I am that lame.

I have always loved Chiptune stuff like Sabrepulse (r.i.p.), but I started listening to Anamanaguchi, who mix live instrumentation into the mix. The reformatting of my nostalgia into something fresh is nice. It hearkens back to that old feeling of sitting in front of my SNES, but then a really good band is playing the soundtrack. Flora/Fauna is a great tune to start of with.

Enjoy your weekend!

Lagubribots Pt.6 or An Impasse

Back up in the mix. Been dealing with large ideas and changes recently so sorry there were no updates. Thanks for the patience if you hung out.

People keep linking to the Big Dog Robot but HRex is still my favorite little dude. I also still harbor fears of being silently murdered by an errant Qrio, the creepy little fucker.

Have a lovely week and keep hope that Rule one of Robotics applies to headless loping dogbots and break dancing automatons whose innocent demeanor hides the cunning thoughts and ruthless wisdom of an electric death ninja.

Lagubribots Pt.5

Happy Saturday,...Are you listening to Cornelius? Why not? Go now and watch his videos, see him live, and buy his albums.

Right now I am reading The Collected Raffles, The Gentleman Theif, and he is quite the baller. He would probably hate that I used that terminology, oh well.

Have a superior weekend, and I'll pants you and laugh on Wednesday.

Lagubribots Pt. 3 & 4

Dr. Mario is pretty much the crystal meth of video games, it gets its hooks in and will not let go. Dr. Mario, however, won't burn you in a particularly horrid trailer explosion, when your mobile drug lab explodes. Now if I had some Root Beer and Sonic the Hedgehog 2, my transportation to middle school would be dans l'accomplissement.

Let us crank that robocop right into hump day,...together.

Lagubribots Pt.2

Those are either amazing job options or fairly horrible, depending on your disposition towards dinosaurs.

You should listen to Natasha Cloutier on the Radio Oh La La podcast. She spins really wonderful French tunes from the 50's, 60's, and 70's. She also has a lovely voice. That is it, have a Saturday filled with unforced laziness.

Lagubribots Pt.1

Hey folks, here is another foray into silent comics, starring two robots and their problems.

Have you heard the Bon Iver song "Skinny Love"? It is a sad pop song in a good way. This song, "Scott Pilgrim" by Plumtree, "Bathroom Gurgle" by Late of the Pier and "Freetime" by Kenna have all had me tightly in their grips, and they are not letting go.

Oahu

Here is one more I found in the back of my notebook. I have had a chance to hear the new Jason Collett album (Which I plan on purchasing at my local record store which is Chaz's Bull City Records off of 9th st. in Durham.) It is as good as expected, he is such a great songwriter.

Also good are the tunes of LA band Dengue Fever who play psychedelic, reverb-y, Asian influenced pop, and the dirty dance music of French digimongers Revolte. Their music is similar to the sounds of contemporaries like Daft Punk, Justice, and Modeselektor, but they seem somehow crazier and more ready to throw down in a dance fight.
